Toxicological data and environmental behavior of nitrogen trifluoride
Acute toxicity: LC50 19000mg/m3, 1 hour (rat inhalation); 5600mg/m3, 4 hours (mouse inhalation). Irritation: Irritating to skin and mucous membranes.
Subacute and chronic toxicity: Rats exposed to 308mg/m3 concentration, inhaled for 7 hours daily for 4-5 months, showed mild to moderate pathological changes in liver and kidney, splenomegaly, and increased urinary fluoride.
Hazard characteristics: Strong oxidizer. Heating or contact with flame, electric spark, or organic matter can cause combustion or even explosion. Contact with flammable substances (such as benzene) and combustible materials (such as sugar, fiber, etc.) can cause violent reactions, even combustion. Reacts violently with reducing agents, causing combustion and explosion.
Combustion (decomposition) products: Hydrogen fluoride.
